The Halifax County Sheriff's Office is investigating a breaking and entering where several rifles,shotguns and jewelry was stolen.
Major Bruce Temple said the theft occurred Wednesday between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Thelma Road, Roanoke Rapids.
A suspicious blue pickup was observed in the area. If anyone has information on this case or on people trying to sell several guns,please call Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
The Sheriff's Office has experienced recent daytime residential break-ins in the last few weeks. “We ask neighbors to look out for each other and report suspicious activity. We also remind residents to ensure that their alarm systems and surveillance equipment are turned on when they leave home.”
