A man allegedly holding an eight ball of crack cocaine was arrested Friday following a traffic stop by a Halifax County Sheriff’s Office drug agent.

Lieutenant Scott Hall said Drug Agent T.A. Harris stopped a black Buick on Justice Branch Road for a traffic violation.

During the stop, Harris noticed an eighth of an ounce of crack cocaine in the lap of the passenger. The driver was identified as Tony Edmonds and the passenger was identified as Derrick Sherrod Burgess. Both men are from the Littleton area.

Edmonds was charged with no operators license and a brake light violation before being released.

Burgess was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Burgess was incarcerated in the Halifax County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond and has a November 3 court date pending.
