The city manager’s office confirmed the items were OK’d by council.
In the first matter, council approved letting Public Works Director Richard Parnell be authorized to execute and file for federal financial assistance under the Disaster Relief Act for the city.
Council also agreed to reduce permit fees for repairs from storm damage through May 31.
In a matter related to debris collection, council agreed to continue to collect debris on roadways through May 13. Typically the city doesn’t collect such debris but once a week. “This should be adequate time for the city to clear the streets and yard debris from most areas,” a memo from City Manager Paul Sabiston said. There will be no charge for the additional debris collection.
Council agreed to lease the substation to the Employment Security Commission for $425 a month through May 20. The commission has the option to renew the lease for five additional one month terms, according to a copy of the agreement.
