The North Carolina Highway Patrol is reaching out to the community for assistance in two unsolved fatal hit and run collisions.

One occurred May 20 and the other July 3, 2005, according to Sergeant E.S. Shaberg.

The patrol hopes to find new witnesses or information which will lead to the vehicles contributing to these collisions, Shaberg said.

Both collisions involved intoxicated pedestrians.

The first hit and run occurred May 20 shortly after 11:15 p.m. in Northampton County on Highway 301 north of the Halifax County line.Quintin Lee Tillery was struck initially by a 2006 Dodge vehicle traveling northbound. That vehicle was operated by Geneen Ann Lashley-Rogers and knocked Tillery into the southbound lane. Another vehicle traveling north collided with the pedestrian on the roadway and left the scene.

The 2005 hit and run occurred July 3 on Thirteen Bridges Road near Enfield.

A pedestrian, Milton Earl Hedgepeth, was walking east against traffic in the westbound lane when a vehicle struck him and left the scene.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the highway patrol at 252-536-2224, Northampton County Crimestoppers at 252-534-1110 or Halifax County Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
