The city today updated its financial information on the Old Crow Medicine Show concert last month.

The show generated revenues totaling $3,438, according to Finance Director MeLinda Hite.

Rental fee was $2,000 and the $2 charge per ticket sold generated $1,438, which puts attendance around 719, not including 40 comp tickets which were given.

The money will be used to pay the maintenance and utilities costs at the Roanoke Rapids Theatre.

@Lance Great picture! I appreciate you opening a forum for people to discuss the theatre (and other topics) and for being proactive about getting some answers. Maybe the city officials will take your example and actually start listening to the people. But, why did you delete your last post?

So it's paying the maintenance and utility costs, but not paying down any of our debt on that boondoggle? And the contract called for 3 performances a month, didn't it? So it appears we're owed 2 performances for November and 3 for December. Anybody?

OK, Lance, so ready to eat crow and admit the show was not the sellout you predicted? Less than 50% of seats filled.

And what were the town's expenses? There was police overtime to pay, etc. So how much did we really lose on this wasted venture?
