Coleman Coleman Roanoke Rapids Police Department

A Roanoke Rapids man who led an officer on a chase through the mill village last week is scheduled for an April 27 court date.

Ricardo Coleman faces charges of flee to elude arrest, failure to stop for blue light and siren, speeding, reckless driving, failure to yield for a stop sign, driving while license revoked and no liability insurance.

Captain Andy Jackson of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said the chase began around 3:30 p.m. when narcotics Agent Jamie Hardy was patrolling the 300 block of the mill village around Madison Street April 5.

He spotted Coleman, who he knew was driving on a revoked license, and turned on his blue lights to stop him.

Coleman allegedly accelerated and Hardy followed him with siren on. Coleman led Hardy through the areas of Taylor Street at speeds of more than 60 miles per hour before Hardy gave up the chase.

Hardy obtained warrants for his arrest and Coleman was arrested the next day.

Looks like you two are 2 more jail house lawyers who don't get it do you?? Hardy KNEW Mr. Coleman's liscense were revoked. It's a their job to know things about repeat offenders and people they encounter regularly. Secondly, the chase was at 60mph on Taylor Street!! That is a very narrow street, very populated, and 25mph is unsafe on that street! The chase gets called off for public safety reasons, and since the officer WITNESSED him driving, the charges will stick. David... haha... get real!

true david. you know wrong is wrong. but you cant pull someone over for assuming he has revoked liscense. Dont you have to have a reason to pull them over.? looks like if Ricardo got a good lawyer he could get this dropped!
