Trooper J.R. Brown of the state Highway Patrol charged Freda Riggins, 25, with careless and reckless driving, no operators license, failure to maintain lane control and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
Yvonne Riggins died from injuries sustained in the crash, which occurred March 14 shortly before 7:30 p.m. near Highway 561. She died at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville after being airlifted.
The 2003 Dodge pickup went through the ditch and then hit a line of pine trees before bursting into flames.
