Boy faces 13 B&E counts

A Roanoke Rapids boy has been charged with 13 counts of breaking and entering into cars in the Sonic area.

Investigation by Detective Charles Vaught showed Joshua Wayne Turner, 17, allegedly took $600 in cash that was left in one unlocked vehicle in the area.

Captain Andy Jackson of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said Turner was allegedly responsible for a series of car break-ins in the Carolina Street, Raleigh Drive and East 11th Street areas over the last month. Money and car stereos were taken from the unlocked vehicles.

Turner, of Morgan Drive, faces 13 breaking and entering charges, six counts of larceny from a motor vehicle and six counts possession of stolen goods and property.

He was jailed on $15,000 bond and has a June 29 court date.

I guess someone just dropped off everything that was stolen at his house and just told him to hang on to it for a while...stupid.
