The Spin first reported Tuesday Charles “Oopsie” Hockaday turned himself in. Later that morning Alston Lamont Parker turned himself in after family members encouraged him to do so, said Lieutenant Bobby Martin.
Both men were wanted in the shooting of Mary Graham, the mother of Corey Graham, who was shot and killed in the parking of a Roanoke Rapids convenience store in March. Martin told The Spin Hockaday and Mrs. Graham have had trouble in the past but there is no connection between Hockaday and Mr. Graham’s murder.
Hockaday, who was charged assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, two counts of assault, possession of a firearm by a felon and discharging a firearm into occupied property, was jailed on $500,000 bond and Parker, who was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, was released from custody.
The shooting occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. in the Music City Trailer Park off Heritage Lane.
Martin said the shooting occurred as Mrs. Graham and two other people were driving through the trailer park, which is located off Highway 48 in Roanoke Rapids.
Words were exchanged and shots were fired from a handgun, Martin said.
It is not clear what the argument was about.

Both men wanted in the Music City Trailer Park shooting are now in custody, the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday.
