Trooper W.R. Bulluck III reported that on July 5 between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Sandy Cross Road in the Nashville area, a 1996 or 1997 blue GMC Jimmy collided with a red Hoveround ejecting its operator onto the roadway.
The driver continued driving through a yard and then back on the roadway without stopping.
The operator of the Hoveround was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Evidence collected includes a portion of the plastic bumper grill and paint chips.
Bulluck said in an alert he is asking troopers who have stopped a vehicle like this to notify him and is likewise seeking the public's help in solving the crime.
The vehicle could have been already fixed and could be another make or model other than a Jimmy. Checks with body shops indicated it could be a Jimmy.
