A stabbing call in the Weldon housing projects Tuesday led to the arrest of a 25-year-old woman.

Captain Jay Burch of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said officers responded to the call and met the victim at Halifax Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released for a stab wound to the arm.

Investigation by Dective Sergeant Joe Sealey led to the arrest of Tomeka Shanta Richardson for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and communicating threats.

Richardson was jailed on $500 bond and has an October 27 court date.

A dispute between Richardson and the victim led to the arrest, Burch said.
