A Tuesday afternoon shooting resulted in three arrests, one of which was the victim.

The shooting occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on Thirteen Bridges Road outside Enfield, according to Detective Doug Pilgreen of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, Delorean Taylor, says he was walking on the road when a vehicle passed him and turned around. The vehicle stopped and he was shot at, then shot at again, this time a bullet grazing his head.

Sergeant Greg Richardson obtained warrants on Cedrick Lavonta Williams, 22, and Jonathan Throne Burnette, 22, both of Enfield.

They were jailed on $75,000 bonds and have November 30 courts dates. They face charges of assault with a deadly weapon, assault by pointing a gun and felony conspiracy.

Pilgreen said the shooting appears to be the result of an ongoing dispute between those charged and the victim.

Meanwhile, Taylor was also arrested and charged with simple assault and communicating threats after he allegedly assaulted the father of one of those charged in the shooting.

He was jailed on $1,000 bond and has a November 30 court date.
