Three children have been turned over to the Department of Social Services after Halifax County Sheriff's Office deputies discovered poor living conditions and a pound of marijuana and other drugs in a London Church Road outside Roanoke Rapids Wednesday night.

Lieutenant Scott Hall said Deputy C.T. Jenkins received a complaint from a concerned citizen about what was described in a press release as “very poor” living conditions for the children who lived in the home.

Jenkins and deputies M.F. Almendarez and D.R. Radford began an investigation which allegedly confirmed the children were living in poor conditions and marijuana was in the home.

Deputies contacted narcotics agents who located approximately a pound of marijuana, ecstasy pills and paraphernalia in the home.

U say give her a hand up? How? Why?-would someone give her a hand up when there was $1000-$1500 found in that house? They knew better and definitely could have done better! They are both grown and they didn't need anyone to tell them that this was no way to live, especially for innocent children! That's disgusting & u know it! THAT IS ALL!!!
