Few details were immediately available this morning but Major Bruce Temple of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said Jeffrey Cotton was shot in the upper back around 1:45 while in the parking lot of Club Dreams on Highway 158.
The shooter is described as a black male standing 6 feet, 1 inches tall. He had a close hair cut, medium complexion and was wearing a red Aeropostale T-shirt and blue jeans.
The suspect was seen in the club before the shooting.
