2 arrested, more pending, in B&E

Two people are in custody and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is expected to make additional arrests in a December residential break-in on Shields Commissary Road in the Scotland Neck area.

Detective James Matthews investigated the case and has charged Ricky Whitehead, 24, of Scotland Neck, with breaking and entering, possession of stolen property, larceny after breaking and entering, injury to real property and resist, delay and obstruct.

On Sunday, Jeffery Brandon Jones, 26, of Scotland Neck, was arrested by Deputy S. Casey on warrants for breaking and entering, injury to real property, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods.

Jones was jailed on $5,000 bond and has a March 2 court date.
